A Liverpool woman has been sentenced to four years in prison for stealing the identities of her own relatives.
50 year old Patricia Harrington pleaded guilty to Wire Fraud, Tax Fraud and Aggravated Identity Theft.
The U.S. Attorney's office say Harrington stole the identities of her three grown children and her own sister without thier knowledge to steal nearly 40 thousand dollars in tax refunds and unemployment benefits. The thefts occurred during 2010 and 2011.
Harrington was already on supervised release for similar charges she faced in Pennsylvania. In that case, Harrington admitted to stealing the identities of others so she could apply for at least a dozen student loans totaling 140 thousand dollars.
In the new case, Harrington has also been ordered to pay 47 thousand dollars in restitution and perform 220 hours of community service upon her release.
